Voice Carry Over
Voice Carry Over or VCO is a type of relay call that allows a person with a hearing disability to use their own voice to speak directly to the hearing/standard telephone user .No typing on the TTY is required. This service is especially useful for people who have lost some or all of their hearing but are still able to speak.
AT&T Relay Services offers five different VCO options to meet individual needs:
- Basic VCO allows you to speak to the hearing person you have called and then read their responses. Get step-by-step instructions
- Two-Line VCO allows you to speak to the hearing person you have called, then read and hear their responses. Get step-by-step instructions
- VCO-to-VCO allows you to communicate directly with other VCO users. Get step-by-step instructions
- VCO-to-TTY allows you to communicate with TTY users. Get step-by-step instructions
- Privacy VCO allows you to speak to the hearing person you have called without the Communication Assistant hearing your conversation. Get step-by-step instructions
Customers who have selected VCO on their Relay Choice Profile form do not have to request or type VCO PLS. This feature will automatically be activated for any standard relay calls placed or received.
