IM Relay
Get plugged into the new AT&T IM Relay and start connecting on AOL Instant Messenger! All you need is an Internet connection and an AIM account. Your AIM account and IM Relay calls are free.
New to AIM?
Start by getting your FREE AIM account. You can set up your account by downloading the AIM software.
Download AIM
Get AIM- Click either the Download button or the link for your computer’s operating system.
- Follow the instructions to download and install the AIM software.
Ready, AIM, Connect
AIM subscribers simply connect to AIM and follow the steps below to start messaging.
Add AT&T to Your Buddy List
You will add “ATTRelay” as a buddy to make calls through AT&T IM Relay. - Click the AIM menu, and then click New IM.
- Type “ATTRelay” in the box labeled IM with:
This automatically adds ATTRelay as a buddy (if you have not turned off that feature).
Make an IM Relay Call
Ready to make an IM Relay call?
- Click the AIM menu, and then click New IM.
- Type “ATTRelay” in the box labeled IM with:
- In the text box at the bottom of the AIM window, type the area code and phone number of the person you want to call, and then click the Send button or press ENTER.
- You will connect to the Relay Center, where the Communication Assistant will dial your call.
- After your call is connected, type a message in the text box and then click the Send button or press ENTER.
- To end your call, type “SKSK” and click the Send button or press ENTER.
Spanish IM Relay
Todas llamadas serán enviadas a operarios Hispanohablantes. Escriba a máquina INGLÉS para utilizar a operarios Anglófonos.
By entering the word Spanish into the text window, the system will automatically display prompts and responses in Spanish.
All calls will be sent to Spanish-speaking operators. Type ENGLISH to use English-speaking operators.
